13. The Türkiye Family Year – Social Model Design Competition

The objective of this competition is to design social models that strengthen the institution of family in Türkiye, enhance intra-family solidarity, address the needs of families, eliminate threats and problems they face, and help establish a happy and peaceful family structure. Participants are expected to develop social models that fulfil this goal.

The family is the cornerstone of society, and the establishment of a healthy and harmonious family structure ensures that individuals can lead secure and fulfilling lives. In this context, participants are expected to design social models that address the needs of families, strengthen communication and solidarity within the family, support families in overcoming economic and psychological challenges, and improve their overall quality of life. Furthermore, projects that aim to eliminate domestic violence and discrimination, support the healthy development of children and youth, strengthen family support services, and foster models that integrate families into social life will also be considered within the scope of the competition. The overarching goal is to implement innovative social models that support every family in Türkiye and contribute to building strong, happy, and peaceful family structures.

Social Model Title: Family Academy

Unique Value: The Family Academy is an educational and support platform established to raise awareness among parents, promote the healthy development of children, and strengthen intra-family solidarity. Through both in-person and online programs, families receive guidance on psychological, legal, and economic matters.

Model Methodology: In cooperation with universities, municipalities, and non-governmental organizations, “Family Academy” centres are established in every city. These centres offer expert-led trainings in areas such as communication, premarital preparation, child development, crisis management, and budgeting. A digital platform ensures remote access to these services, reaching a broad audience. The Academy also provides timely counselling and guidance services to families in need.

Model Feasibility: The model can be implemented at low cost through collaboration with existing educational institutions and municipalities. Its sustainability can be ensured through the voluntary contributions of professionals and academics.

Widespread Impact: Family Academy may foster more conscious parenting, improve harmony within households, reduce divorce rates, and contribute to raising healthy future generations
